Trapping in Online Poker Holly Wood Style

There is nothing like performing a beautiful trap when you have the nuts! Sucking your opponent dry feels great, especially when it’s Holly Wood Style!

I was playing online poker at a cash table; I had joined a friend for fun. Internet Poker is a great thing when you have friends abroad, I joined at a cash table, talked away and my friend and I were having the time of our lives. I was playing very safe; I was really there for the enjoyment. Indeed online gaming can be fun with friends!

We were on a full table full of aggressive players. There was one man - as an example – whom they were calling “re-buy boy”, he continually re-bought (Although I missed taking his chips, I took his seat as he left). They were playing loose as hell and me tight, is my point. So I am sitting playing tight and was dealt Ace and 8 of spades. The flop comes down giving me my nut flush straight away. There was no prior raise for this particular hand but they were about to start. I was raised: a huge raise! I sat and thought, and thought until I had almost used all my time clock prior to calling. I knew I had the nuts but extraction was the key. The turn came and was useless to either person. Regardless, my internet poker Hollywood performance had paid off! My only remaining opponent went all in which is exactly what I wanted! Snap call this time, no more need for acts.

His response was “OMG, WOW!” “You obviously don’t know her,” says my friend. Indeed he didn’t, but he wouldn’t forget now. Online Poker Software developers have given us a time clock to make sure that the game is played at a fair and reasonable pace. I suggest you use the software developer’s online gaming tools to your advantage.

Use the clock to pull Holly Wood Acting Stunts, use it to trap, use it to its full advantage like I did. Good Luck!

Strategy tips to play Omaha hi low

Play to Win: The spirit of the game is in winning it, so after the flop, if your high hand is not a sure winner and might have to split with the low, or even if you are playing for low but don’t stand a decent shot at the high hand, it’s a good idea to check/fold and get out early.

Slow play most Omaha hands: Early raises are risky unless you know you can't lose.

Avoid playing middle suited connectors. Hands like 8h 9h spell bad news in high-low split. In order to make the high end of a straight, you need to catch the cards that will also qualify low hands. To play these you also need a suited ace or an A2.

Do not overbet A2, A3 and 2 3 nut lows. You could end up getting quartered as these are often shared with another player. If there are two playing the same nut low and one going high, every bet you make contributes 1/3 to the pot that will only pay you 1/4 back. It makes sense to check around. Fast play, here will make you money if there are three or more other players with either high or losing low hands.

Beware of uniform flops, like 8 7 6, they could easily turn into straights that can overtake your high pair trips, or other good hand.

Watch out for Suited Flops that can make a completed flush. Hold the nut in that suit, or have trips or two pair that can fill up.

Check the raisers chips. Players that are close to all-in often rush the betting just to get all their chips in a sink-or-swim last hand.

Study your opponents, especially when you are not playing hands and can pay careful attention. Look for any "tells" (give away mannerisms) that disclose information about their hands etc.

Get caught bluffing once in a while, as it varies your play. You win pots that you don't deserve when your bluff works. You lose a few chips when it doesn't work but it will get you calls from weaker hands down the line when you are really strong and need the action.

Pay very close attention to your cards. Omaha High Low hands can get confusing. You think you have a nut hand winner when you don't, or you have the best possible hand and not realize it. Avoid these costly mistakes.

Poker strategy

If you’ve just gotten into a game of poker and you’re in a mood to rake in big bucks, keep in mind you need to have a game plan. Simply put, you need to plan your strategy in such a way that you gain maximum leverage over the other players throughout the session.

Your play at the start of the game will determine the course of your game. You could either be aggressive and active and dominate the game or play it cool and avoid confrontation. However, being passive does not mean that you allow other players to dominate your play. Remember, you’re playing to win.

When you’ve just settled in at the poker table and play has just started, you’ll have around 9 to 10 players with you. These guys are usually very aggressive at the beginning of an online poker game. What they’re hoping to do is build up a big lead over the other players so they can play it cool in the middle of the game and save their energy to bounce back at the end of the game.

You can, in fact, use their strategy to your advantage. Use the continuation bet feature and turn the tables around. You could win yourself a few rewards towards the pot. A continuation bet is an ancient online poker strategy. This bet is made after a flop in online poker tournaments. The player will raise a hand during the game after which he has already gained control of the game.

Taking control of the hand together with a possible position will make your opponents check to you.

As the game continues on, the other players will have no idea whether you hold a monster card or not. At the end of the supposed last card hand and you lay out your bet, your opponents will rack their heads to decide, especially if the continuation bet is large enough.

Your opponents will push head on towards the end of the game, since it is their strategy to be aggressive.

If you are faced with the online poker strategy using continuation bet, an aggressive player must weigh his chances, but usually should not stop being aggressive and must be ready to risk all that he has. You need to see through the other player’s bluff and his continuation bet and dare him in the game. This way, you’ll earn rewards towards the top table and will in the end win the pot.

If you’re using the passive style of play, you’ll have to avoid confrontation. Wait it out and be patient till some of the players are knocked out of the game. You wait for one wrong move and then take them out. The advantage here is, you get to observe your opponents’ play and the pattern of their strategy. You then come up with ways to counter their strategies and win yourself rewards.

Remember that your strategy within the early stages will determine your play in succeeding rounds. You may want to win the game or just earn rewards, either case keeping up till the end of the game is essential.

The Art of winning at a Poker Game

When does one win at poker? It does seem to be a very nice question to ask, but a very difficult one to crack. One way of explaining a win would be when you play poker, the way you would if you could see your opponent’s poker cards. Conversely you would also gain if your opponent plays his cards differently from the way he would have played them if he could see your cards.

This simply means that if you are successful in inducing your opponents to play the poker game differently than they would if they could see your cards than most of the time you would end up winning. Bluffing and slow play at a poker table are classic examples of this. Bluffing helps in masking your poker hand from that of the opponent and induces them to fold superior hands. However if a poker player observes that you never bluff then you have had it. They won’t call their bets unless they have very good hands.

Slow playing is just the converse of bluffing where you bet low even if you have a great hand. However if your opponents observe that you never slow play then they will pounce on any sign of weakness.

Observing your opponent!

Watching the opponents, making quick adjustments and knowing when to give up poker hands and games. Opponents are often predictable. When you first sit down in a poker game most poker players do not scan the table and make notes.

The most important thing that you need to know about your opponents is whether they are capable of bluffing or not and taking down an unexpected pot. Make a mental note of each poker player you have played with previously in the past. Due to the success of poker on television a larger number of players seem be bluffing. This is due to seeing the players on television bluff. They do not realize that the most dramatic hands are for the viewing public and what is more dramatic then the bluff?

When an opponent who you do not think can bluff check raises you. What do you think he has in his hand? It is close to the nuts. You just have to figure out how close compared to your hand. Second pair may be enough as they might of checked raised with a flush draw trying to get you to lay down your hand. Play the hand over in your head before releasing your hand.

What is poker tells?

A “poker tell” is any clue, habit, behavior or physical reaction, that gives other players more information about your poker hand. The following are tips and you can apply against novice or advanced players. Remember, in poker game there are many contradictions and exceptions to the rule. Also, experienced pros will give out false tells to fool players.

Watch the Eyes
This is why many pros wear sunglasses or visors/caps when playing poker; they know that the eyes rarely lie.

internet pokerFacial Expression
Again, many pros try to disguise their entire face by wearing a cap and looking downward. This is to avoid the classic stare-down that poker pros are famous for. They may try to study your face for nervousness (detecting a weak hand), or even look for repetitive characteristics like a body "tic". You may have obvious unhappiness in your face when your hand is weak, and conversely, you may show a contrasting show of confidence when your hand is strong.

Weak is Strong/Strong is Weak
In its most simplistic form, this usually applies to novice players but frequently applies to pros as well. Basically, poker players like to be actors, and when they have a monster hand they tend to look disinterested. Repetitive Betting Patterns.

Betting habits
Usually the most revealing poker tells are based on the way a player habitually bets during particular situations. For example, maybe the player always checks when he has made the nuts, or a player may regularly fold after being re-raised.

Aggression in Pot-Limit Omaha

pot-limit omaha

Pot-limit Omaha is the second most common form of poker in the world today. One thing that all the top Pot-Limit Omaha players have in common is aggression. When it’s checked to them, they need a reason to check rather than a reason to bet. Why? Put simply, by betting poker players are more likely to win bigger pots and more of them. They might get caught bluffing from time to time, but they’ll usually have outs.

Betting or raising gives you two ways to win – by having the better poker hand or making your opponent fold. Of course, if you’re too aggressive you’ll find opponents snapping off your bluffs more often, so the poker strategy requires balance and refinement. Getting the right balance is tough but the rewards are huge.

So how do you know when to bet and when to check? It is easy. With big draws, you want to take the pot straight away. If you get called, you will win a bigger pot if you hit. When you’ve got a good made hand you should bet to charge your opponents to outdraw you. When your opponent has shown a tendency to fold too easily you should bet almost always, regardless of your hand, until he catches on. Against a calling station that can’t fold an overpair, you bet everything that beats it and pretty much nothing else. If your opponent likes to chase draws, you should sometimes bet with just top pair or an overpair. You should tend to bet more often in position than out, with the caveat that aggressive opponents will sometimes raise you off your draw, so balance your bets with checks when you can’t stand a raise. It’s a pretty simple strategy that will reap rewards. Add in some hand reading, game selection, tilt control and a bankroll, and you’re well on your way to being a massive winner.

Poker Strategy: Understanding Risk and Reward

Pot odds and demanding an advantage fall into this category when playing poker. Poker players are willing to take a long-shot risk if the reward is high enough, but only if the expected return is higher than the risk.

More importantly, they understand the risk-vs.-reward nature of the game outside of the actual poker room. They know how much bank they need to play, and how much money they need in reserve to cover other expenses in life.
Good poker players understand they need to be more risk-averse with their overall bankroll than their stack at the poker table.
When you play in an individual game, you must value every poker chip equally at the table. You should only care about making correct plays. If you buy in for $10, you should be okay with taking a 52% chance of doubling up to $20 if it means a 48% chance of losing your $10.
However, you should be risk-averse with your overall bankroll. You need to have enough money so that any day at the tables will not affect your bankroll too much. If you worry too much about losing, then you will make mistakes at the poker table. You need to leave yourself with the chance to fight another day.

Internet Poker Strategy---Discipline

Good poker players demand an advantage. What separates a winning poker player from a fish is that a fish does not expect to win, while a poker player does. A fish is happy playing craps, roulette, or the slots; he just hopes to get lucky. A poker player does not hope to get lucky. He just hopes others don't get lucky.

Good poker players understand that a different Internet poker game requires a different discipline. A disciplined no-limit player can be a foolish limit player and vice versa. For example, a disciplined limit holdem player has solid preflop skills. When there is not much action preflop, he or she only plays the better hands. When a lot of people are limping in, he or she will make a loose call with a suited connector or other speculative hand.

A disciplined player knows when to play and when to quit. He recognizes when he is on tilt and is aware when a poker game is too juicy to just quit while ahead.

A disciplined player knows that he is not perfect. When a disciplined player makes a mistake, he learns. He does not blame others. He does not cry. He learns from the mistake and moves on…

Poker is Life

I love playing poker, sometimes win while sometimes lose, just like our life, sometimes happy and sometimes sad. Remember the movie “Forrest Gump” in which Gump’s mother said “Life is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you gonna get.”

In fact, sometimes life is also like a poker game. In every poker game there is a winner and there is a loser, but what separates the two isn’t just luck, it’s poker strategy. And to take it one step further, the same techniques you use in a poker tournament can be used to succeed in life.

The happiness in life is not based on winning at poker, while the winning at poker is based on the happiness of life.

The following three points are suitable both in poker and in life…Put on your poker face – you never want others to know what you are thinking. Just like in poker, the expressions on your face can give away your thoughts. In the real world if you seem desperate you are less likely to succeed, but if you seem confident you are more likely to succeed.

Look for tell signs – people unknowingly do things that give away what they’re thinking. Although you don’t want others to know what you are thinking, you want to study your opponents so you can figure out what they are thinking. By doing this you will have a better understanding of how to react to their actions so that you can benefit from them.

Place smart bets – if you have a shitty poker hand you probably want to fold. And if you have a royal flush you should go all in. The same goes in life because if the cards you are dealt suck, then you probably want to quit and call it a day.

Use your head – it may be difficult to count cards, but it isn’t difficult to learn from your mistakes. Don’t forget about the mistakes you made in the past or else you may make them again.

Barack Obama and Poker

We all know that recently Obama has become the focus of the world. But do you know even this new president plays poker games, just like you and me.

Barack Obama's triumph in the 2004 U.S. Senate race earned him a memorable send-off from his friends in the Illinois legislature they emptied his wallet in a take-no-prisoners night of poker games.
"We brought him down to earth real quick," said state Sen. Terry Link, chuckling at the memory.
Obama was a regular at the low-stakes games sometimes stud poker, sometimes draw designed to break up the tedium of long legislative sessions. Poker, beer and cigars were staples; Democrats and Republicans, lawmakers and even the lobbyists who Obama sometimes rails against dealt the cards and placed their bets.
The traits Obama displayed around the poker table those many nights are ones he brings to his presidential bid and are certain to be evident and analyzed if he wins the White House.
By his poker buddies' accounts, Obama is careful and focused. He's not easily distracted and doesn't give away his intentions unless it's to his advantage. He's not prone to taking risky chances, preferring to play it safe. But he's also serious and competitive: When he plays, he plays to win.
"It's a fun way for people to relax and share stories and give each other a hard time over friendly competition," Obama said by e-mail. "In Springfield, it was a way to get to know other senators including Republicans."
Obama, then a state senator, was a founding member of the group. He became known as a cautious player with a good poker face, someone who paid more attention to the game than to the chatter and laughter that accompanied it.
Obama studied the poker odds carefully, friends say. If he had strong cards, he'd play. If he didn't, he would fold rather than bet good money on the chance the right card would show up when he needed it.
That reputation meant that he often succeeded when he decided to bluff.
"When Barack stayed in, you pretty much figured he's got a good hand," said Larry Walsh, a former senator.
More than one lawmaker teased Obama about his careful style of play.
"I always used to kid him that the only fiscally conservative bone in his body I ever saw was at the poker table with his own money," said state Sen. Bill Brady, a Republican from the central Illinois city of Bloomington. "I said if he would be half as conservative with taxpayer dollars, the state would be a lot better off."

Choose Your Poker Games

As you know, there are many different poker variations and structures in which to play them. And in order to win in the poker games and have your fun, you need to select your own poker games online that fit your skills.
By far the most popular variation for cash games is fixed limit Texas Hold'em, closely followed by no-limit Texas Hold'em. Much less Texas Hold'em games are played in pot-limit style. Other games with decent volume in cash games are Omaha, mostly limit Omaha High-Low and pot-limit Omaha High. Next in popularity is limit Seven-Card-Stud and its High-Low version.
If you are a beginner we recommend that you start out by learning how to play fixed limit Texas Hold'em. This is an easy game in which to learn the basics and as mentioned before it is the most popular form of poker today. Almost all online poker rooms offer plenty micro-stakes limit Texas Hold'em, where you can get a lot of playing time for something like $30.
No-limit Texas Hold'em cash games are not suitable for beginners to play other than at the really low stakes. No-limit Texas Hold'em fits people with guts, aggressive style and good player reading skills. These are treats a beginner rarely displays from the start. Don't take this as advice not to play no-limit Texas Hold'em, but start out carefully and take advantage from playing in some poker tournaments as well. To succeed at higher stakes you will often need to be patient and cautions, play tricky and take calculated chances to break your opponents.
As we know that all short-handed games (6 players or less) have a higher skill factor, as more marginal hands need to be played, more tricks are used and aggression is an even more important element. As a beginner you should avoid these games. Maybe with the exception for players who just have no patience at all and who are real action junkies. Conversely, if you are a winning player who is good at reading opponents and comfortable playing aggressively you could benefit from going down from full ring games to short-handed games.
So be serious to select your own poker games online, and stick to some wise poker strategies to win your bucks~! Have fun~!

Poker News: Women's Poker Spotlight: Clonie Gowen Wins World Poker Open Main Event

Nine players returned to the Gold Strike Casino on Tuesday to take their seats at the final table of the World Poker Open's $5,000 buy-in. The chip leader of those final nine was professional poker player Clonie Gowen.

Clonie Gowen was introduced to poker as a teenager by a boyfriend's father. She spent weekends driving between Dallas and Shreveport, Louisiana to be able to play on a more serious level. Her competitive nature spurred her further and earned her a tenth-place showing in her first major tournament, The 2002 World Poker Tour Costa Rica Classic. She followed that up by winning the World Poker Tour Ladies' Night Invitational.
This year, Clonie is back with a vengeance, cashing in four separate events at the World Series of Poker as well as her largest win to date, a first-place showing at the Bellagio Cup's No Limit Hold'em Main Event in July. To date, Clonie has won NBC's "Poker After Dark" six-player tournament three times, a record she shares with Phil Helmuth.

Clonie came into Day Two of the World Poker Open in second place but struggled for most of the day. When the tournament wound down to 12 players -- in what Clonie described as a key hand that led her to the final table with about an 80,000-chip lead over then second place Kirby Brewer -- she was able to see a free flop with three limpers from the big blind. The board at the river showed Q-10-6-7-K. Nam Huynh moved all in and Clonie called with 10-6 for two pair to beat Nam's 9-7 for a pair of sevens.

With eight poker players left, Clonie dropped down to fifth place. She jumped into second place when her pocket queens beat out Brandon Jarrett's A-10, doubling her up. She took a huge chip lead with six players left when her A(c),5(c),hit top pair on the flop and Brandon's suited Q-J failed to connect, taking him out of the tournament in third place.

Besides a few short stints, the two-hour heads-up between Clonie and BJ McBrayer was Clonie's game. She played an aggressive style, making the right plays at the right times.

Seeing women like Clonie Gowen take on the odds and make the dream of the felt come true is an inspiration to all the women working towards that same goal.

Congratulations, Clonie!

2 Advanced Strategies for No-limit Texas Holdem

For players who like to play No-limit Holdem, they really need to acquire some strong skills and poker strategies in order to win in the game. Last time I ever talked about several skills which I think are necessary for players, then the following skills are also crucial for their chances of success.

1 Reading skills

Reading an idea of your opponent's cards is very important in the poker games online. This really takes time and experience. However, a way to improve your reading skills is what I call the 'three question techniques.' Always ask yourself these three questions when someone makes or calls a bet:

• What does my opponent have?

• What does my opponent think I have?

• What does my opponent think I think he has?
Every time you ask yourself these questions when playing poker, you are thinking of your hands and your opponents’ power. By doing this, you are surely on the way to winning.

2 Psychology and Traps

Once you hold the whopper and your opponent also has a good hand, what's the best way to double through him? Learning to get out of and set traps is very difficult and only experience will help in this department.Fundamentally, game psychology and traps are used to manipulate the three questions mentioned earlier.

For example, if you overbet the pot with a flush draw and then check when you hold the flush, either your opponent will fall for the trap, thinking you had top pair, or he will recognize the trap and check-fold to you on river. This slowplay is used to manipulate the variable: what does he think I have?

Generally, this sort of poker game psychology is only used on good players. Against weaker players, you should just build a good hand and extract money out of them bit by bit. Weaker players just play their hand; they don't think about what you have.

Remember that practice makes perfect, so just do it with your head, then you will hear “YOU WIN”.

Advanced Strategies for No-limit Texas Holdem

Playing Texas Holdem Poker in an advanced no limit game, you need to know that the skill involved with No-Limit games is tremendous, even seasoned professionals admit that they still have a lot to learn at No-Limit Holdem.
You must know what your poker skills are at No-Limit Holdem; what stages of the poker game you have mastered. Once you realize how you are good at No-Limit, you must then apply this to how badly others at your table play No-Limit.
1. Pot odds
You must understand what odds you are getting if you call a bet with a draw. Since you can determine the size of the bet (it's not fixed), you should know if you are getting or giving good odds to someone.
2. Realizing the differences between Limit and No-Limit
Check-raising for value is far less valuable in No-Limit Holdem than Limit Holdem because you may be giving your opponent's a deadly free card. In Limit poker, if you have the second best hand, you will lose a little bit. In No-Limit, you could lose your entire stack.
3. Aggression
Betting is far better than calling in No-Limit. When you bet, you can win if you have the better hand or if your opponent folds. If you call, you can only win if you have your opponent beaten. If you bet, you determine the bet size. You determine the pot odds. If you call, you are accepting someone else's odds. The importance of aggression is why tight-passive poker players can win a lot more at Limit than No-Limit.
4. Quick Adjustment
You need to know that in Texas Holdem, there are different types of games that require different amounts of aggression. Shorter games require one to be looser and more aggressive. However, if your up against many loose opponents, you must tighten up and wait until you have a strong hand. Generally, the opposite of what the poker game is does well. If the game is very loose, tighten up. If the game is very tight, take advantage and steal pots. You also must adjust to your opponent's quality. If you are up against weak poker players, simply giving them bad pot odds and taking money from them bit by bit works well. If you are against better poker players, you must set some traps.

Poker Tips for Poker Beginners

With the rapid spreading of Internet, poker games online have become more and more popular among modern humans. Here are some great poker tips for those who just start to play poker games online. But you need to remember that poker is not only about tips and strategy, poker is about practice. Improving your poker games is a task that requires patience and dedication, so, don’t loose it if you can’t be a poker pro in short time.

Tip 1: Start out playing a game that you are familiar with.
When playing online poker for the first time, it is better to just focus on learning how to play online poker the first few times.

Tip 2: Pick one poker game and master it.
More times than not, people like to try out all sorts of poker games which results in very little strategy being formed. Adjust to the poker game and develop advanced strategy. Master one game at a time.

Tip 3: Work with a budget.
The very first thing to do is set your playing budget and you need to adhere to the limit. Additionally it is also advised to set your profit limit, which should be of course reasonable. Once you reach your profit limit then quit. You can loose the very next game.

Tip 4: There’s no point in playing lots of hands
Playing many hands in a poker game is like a confession of your being a beginner, this gives more advanced players the chance to figure out the type of hands you usually play and your poker strategy. You need to learn how to fold when you have a bad hand, you might want to push the limits sometimes but don’t make that your favorite move.

Tip 5: Remember that players will call you more in online poker
There are some psychology and usability aspects in this statement. On the usability level, it's much easier for a player to click on a 'Call' button in online poker as opposed to reaching into their stack, counting up their chips and putting them on the table.

Basics about Pot Odds in Poker

As a regular poker player, you must know the term “pot odds” much more clearly than those poker beginners. You would probably hear this term tossed around a lot, while even the poker beginners may get some clues about it when they learn the poker games. For all poker players who want to win in poker games, it is crucial to understand the poker pot odds.
A basic knowledge of the poker game will get you started, but to be a successful player you need to understand more advanced concepts like statistics and probability. Playing poker without strategies such as calculating pot odds would put you at a disadvantage, as poker is a game of skill, strategy and intelligence.
Understanding the odds inherent with the game and playing in accordance with those odds will improve your results and combining that strategy with skill and intelligence is what makes a great poker player.
Put simply, pot odds should be the basis for all choices you make regarding your hand. Pot odds are determined by comparing the size of the pot to the strength of your hand and estimating what you have to invest to have a shot at the pot. In other words, pot odds are basically the risk vs. the gain for each hand.
Actually, the concept of pot odds is difficult to explain in words but easier to understand in action and can be quite effective in improving your win percentage when applied practically.
So it’s rather necessary to learn some useful methods of calculating the pot odds in order to improve your poker skills and increase your chances of winning in the poker games. Remember that using pot odds to determine how you play does not guarantee you win, but it does make the risks you take and the occasional payoff from those risks more favorable.

Table Selection--One important skill for Texas Holdem

For most poker players online these days, it’s those great bucks that attract them most and let them deeply fall in love with poker games like Texas Holdem. So as a poker player, do you know how to do to win the biggest when playing against others, no matter who are better or weaker than you? You are so lucky that today I’d like to introduce to you a very basic but rather important skill for you to grab the shining bucks---how to select your proper table.
Table selection is by far the most important skill to master and love, and it will make you the most profitable player that you can be. It does not matter how good you are at playing poker if you are always sitting down at the table with people that are as good as or better than you. As you will find in the long run you are losing money playing with players that are as good as you are because of the rake. The rake will kill your profitability. So you need to improve your poker skills at selecting your table to spot and locate the fish as you must know that sharks really feed on fish.
But here the point is HOW you could find the fish in poker games. Normally, you could watch carefully other players when playing against them and find those who consistently make bad or silly moves, weather they get lucky or not, just write them down. Next time when you come across them in poker games, you could easily read them out and know how to grab them of their bucks. Another way to find fish is to share information with your friends by creating a fish list and store all the useful fish information in the list. This information will be valuable to everyone in your group, and will help you and your friends profit.
But if you do not have any notes or fishlists, how will you play then? It’s simple that you need to know that nothing would stop you from standing up and leaving the table. As you know that if you cannot spot the fish in the first thirty minutes, you are the fish, so do not hesitate to stand up and leave the table in search of friendlier and more profitable waters.
Anyway, remember that the poker skills are the most important in poker games though you need to know how to select the proper table to win from the fish.

How to play pre-flop

Whenever you want to play your pre-flop cards by betting like a maniac in Texas Holdem, you must seriously think of such factors like the number of players, the playing styles of your opponents, your bankroll, etc. which would affect your actions in poker games.
Playing with 10 people in a poker game, it's much more likely that someone else has a strong hand in the pocket than in a short-handed game. And the chances are also bigger that someone's pre-flop hand fitting the flop will be much better. More competition means stiffer competition.
Then assuming that you’ve been playing several hands with a few people and you find that some players always call or raise your bet, you need to adjust your poker strategies to their playing styles and let them win the blinds but win big when you have a strong hand in the pocket pre-flop.
If you have 2$ left, you would play carefully and select one hand to bet on, hoping to get as many players involved as possible for a larger pot. You'll want to be all-in before the flop is dealt. But suppose that you have 1000$ in a 1$/2$ table, then you could take the high-risk, high-payout bets. So your playing strategy depends on your bankroll.
As we discussed before that positions really matter in poker games, you need to vary your playing strategies according to your different positions around the table. If you are in the early or middle positions, you must carefully think before you decide how to play your pre-flop as you have little information of how others play their hands first. If you stay in the late positions, it must be better for you to base your decisions on what others react and optimize the pot size to your wish.
Therefore, next time when you want to play your pre-flop in Texas Holdem, take these factors into consideration and then you could make some wise decisions on how you play it well.
