Texas Holdem Tips have strict guidelines which are the only way to win the pot. We should understand that each player develops a unique set of tricks and strategies matching his own style of play. However, the following tips are an extract from the most successful strategies, which can be very helpful in development of our own strategy of play, which is especially useful for novice and upstanding Texas Holdem players or even other kinds of poker games.
First of all you must play just good starting hands. Real money Texas Holdem games require you to perfectly know good starting hands, worthy enough to see the flop. Don’t hesitate to fold weak hands.
You must learn to quickly read the flop and make reasonable decisions, earlier than you will have to press the button in order to stay in the pot. You know that online Texas Holdem is much faster than its live counterpart, thus you must get accustomed to the faster pace of the game and learn to analyze the flop and make decisions much faster than in a casino.
Choosing to play Texas Holdem online, you need to adjust to some specific features of Internet poker rooms before throwing your chips onto the table. Even if you have some experience of playing poker in casinos or at home, there are still a lot of things for you to learn.
Take notes and keep track of every game you play, unless an Internet poker room, where you play provides all necessary data in statistics. And even if it does, you still need to take notes about your opponents, their strategies and tricks, etc.
Texas Holdem is not a “luck game”. If you rely on luck, then it might be better to consider some “luck games”, such as roulette, slot machines, etc. Texas Holdem is a highly intellectual game, where smart and inventive players earn more than even the luckiest ones and one of most important aspects of all intellectual games is an ability to evaluate your opponents and bluff.
Texas Holdem is a very serious game that supposes discipline and self-control. You must keep to a strict schedule without forgetting that you live in a real world, where you have your job, your family and your leisure time. Meanwhile, Texas Holdem requires concentration and attentiveness – that’s why you must feel comfortable during the game.

World Series of Poker

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is one of the most prestigious poker tournaments in the world. First played in 1970, the World Series of Poker has grown in popularity ever since.
The World Series of Poker draws many of the top poker players, but it is not their exclusive domain. Players come from all walks of life and most of the poker players are amateurs. The World Series of Poker often sees many of those amateurs beating the pros.
The World Series of Poker actually consists of a number of poker tournaments of various poker games including Texas Holdem, Omaha, Razz, and Stud Poker. There are also Lowball and Hi-Low split poker games. The World Series of Poker typically has about 45 individual poker tournaments which begin the first week of June and end with the final day of the World Championship Event about mid-July.
The winner of each World Series of Poker tournament event is awarded a gold bracelet (which many players value more than the cash prize). The cash prizes are substantial typically ranging in the low to mid six figures with the first place prize for last year's Championship event setting a new record at $5 million. Poker tournament buy-ins generally range from $1,000 to $5,000 with the Championship tournament having a buy-in of $10,000. Players can also get into the Championship tournament by winning World Series of Poker satellite tournaments.
Harrahs Casino also sponsors the World Series of Poker Tournament Circuit. The circuit is comprised of various poker tournaments held at different Harrahs casino properties nationwide. Poker tournament players earn points toward an invitation to the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions which is held shortly after the conclusion of the regular World Series of Poker tournaments.
Many of the World Series of Poker tournament final tables are taped and televised by ESPN.

Limit Holdem Rules and Procedures
1. The first two players to the left of the dealer button---which marks the position of where an actual player-dealer world be if participants took turns dealing---are required to post the blinds. A blind bet is a wager a player is required to put in the pot before receiving any cards. In our example game, the player immediately to the left of the dealer puts in a blind bet of $2 and the player two seats to the left of the dealer puts in $4. In online sites, this is all handled automatically by the software. So, in this game, there is $6 in the pot that players than can compete for even before any cards are dealt.
2. The computer shuffles and distributes one card at a time face down to each player, beginning to the left of the button, and continuing clockwise until each participant has two cards. These two cards are the only ones each player will receive during a hand of holdem.
3. The action begins with the player to the left of the big blind. Each player, acting clockwise in turn, must call the previous bet, raise it $4, or throw the hand away.
4. All bets are added to the pot, along with the original blinds, in the center of the table.
5. If you bet or raise and all your opponents fold, you win what’s in the pot, and there is no subsequent dealing or betting on this hand.
6. If there are callers and no raise, the big blind has the option to raise, even though he has only been called. This is called a live blind.
7. If two or more players remain after the first round of betting, the deal continues. Three face-up cards will be dealt all at once in the center of the table. This is called the flop.
8. Players coordinate the two secret cards held in their hand with the three cards face up on the board to form their five-card poker hand. There is a second round of betting, beginning to the left of the dealer. All bets remain at the pre-established $4 limits.
9. If two or more players remain after the second round of betting the deal continues. The dealer turns over a fourth communal board card in the center of the table. This is called the turn card.
10. There is a third round of betting, beginning with the first active player to the left of the dealer. All bets now double to $8.
11. If two or more players remain after the third round of betting, the deal continues. The dealer delivers a fifth and final communal board card in the center of the table. It’s called the river card.
12. There is a fourth and final round of betting, beginning to the left of the dealer. All bets remain at $8.
13. If two or more players remain after the final betting round, there is a showdown to determine the winner. The computer turns the winning two cards face up on the table. The best hand is determined by incorporating those two cards and any of the five communal board cards to form the best traditional five-card poker hand. The player having that best hand wins all the money in the pot.
14. The dealer button moves clockwise, one spot to the left, the blind bets are placed for the next hand, and the process is repeated.

Pot-Limit Omaha
Pot-Limit Omaha is very different from Hold'em. In Hold'em, people commonly call down with second best hands. This is because people rarely hold the nuts in Hold'em. If someone always folded their made non-nut hands in Texas Hold'em, they would be a guaranteed loser in the long run. One must call or bet with imperfect hands such as top pair or bottom set.
Pot-Limit Omaha centers on two things: building the nut hand, and position. The first point is obvious. The hands are strong in Pot-Limit Omaha, so you want to be able to hold the best hand. Most Pot-Limit Omaha games do not go to a showdown. When they do, more than likely one player has the nuts or was drawing to the nuts. When two players have strong made hands against each other, generally one has the nut hand or second-nut and the other player also has a near nut hand.

Manage Your Money in Poker Games
Money management means only playing in games you can afford and knowing how much you are expected to win in the long run. The reason that so many skilled poker players go broke is that they constantly play at limits that are not supported by their bankroll. There will be times when you are just plain unlucky for a longer period of time though you are playing well. You must have a bankroll large enough to handle these expected swings in poker.
Learn to manage your money in poker games and you will be the winner…

Categorizing Your Opponents in No-Limit Hold’em
It is extremely important that you are able to assess the quality of your opponents’ play. You have to play very differently against strong players than you do against weaker ones. This is of crucial important in no-limit Hold’em.
There are many very good poker players failing to adjust their strategy when they are in a pot with a certain type of player.
For this the following two general rules can be the guide for us:
Against a low-grade player: You don’t try to get fancy when you are in a pot with a weak player and don’t try to make subtle moves that’ll be far beyond his capacity to understand or appreciate. In a word, you outplay him.
Against a higher-grade player: Sometimes you make an obvious play against a strong player---as you always would against a weak player---and other times you go at it another way and make a play that’s not so obvious. Most of the time, you have to put a play on or out-maneuver a strong player.
Of course, there are even very good players who know that that’s what they’re supposed to do, but knowing something and being able to execute it are two different things in poker games.

Know Your Texas Hold’em
Wandering in Texas Hold’em and other poker games every day, play with winning and losing or appreciate other people with learning; many things have come into my mind…
Once you post your blind the money no longer belongs to you. So, don’t waste additional money on marginal hands and also don’t automatically call with the small blind if you have nothing. Saving a half bet will pay for your next small blind.
Deciding whether to continue playing after the flop will also be your big decision. It can also be one of the most costly decisions if you continue after the flop with an inferior poker hand. It is said that the flop defines your hand. Poker Author Shane Smith coined the phrase “Fit or Fold”. If the flop does not fit your hand by giving you top pair, or better or a straight or flush draw, then you should fold if there is a bet in front of you. If you played a small pair from late position and you do not flop a third one to make a set you should throw the pair away if there is a bet.
If you think you have the best hand after seeing the Turn card and are first to act, then go ahead and bet. Many poker players will try to get fancy and attempt to check raise in this position. If the other players also check, you have lost a bet or two. In low limit games the straight forward approach is usually the best as there are plenty of players who will call you. Make them pay. Why give them a free card if you don’t have to?

Poker Needs Secrets
In poker, you often find yourself at a point of decision: it is your turn to take action but you don't know what to do. Should you call? Should you raise? Should you fold? You study the cards; you calculate your outs and your pot odds; you retrace the action of the hand; you ponder the chips on the table… Still, you have no idea what is your best move. You analyze the probabilities; you consider advice from poker books you've read; you look skyward for guidance. Yet you remain baffled. Your actions in situations like this determine your success as a poker player.
The secret is to figure out what your opponent don't want you to do and then do that. When you face an opponent in poker, he will always be worried about your particular action.
The secret is reliable---the reason is that the inner desires of your opponent are based on accurate information. He knows almost everything about the details of his poker hands and he does not need to speculate about those things as you do. Therefore, whatever he is thinking is based on factual information from his viewpoint. His thoughts, whatever they are, are rooted in his reality…

Poker Imagination on a Sleepless Night
Lying down awake with all lights turning off, I began to play Texas Hold’em on my cell phone---sometimes I won and sometimes lost. No matter what, I kept silent to enjoy my own entertainment so that my roommate can’t be waken up. I suddenly realize that happiness is simple; even it can be gained from poker games. I still remember the love story of my cousin and his girlfriend should be attributed to poker…
I couldn’t help smiling because a thought comes into my mind that I am in deep happiness in fact---when I have a sleepless night, I have friends who can send me short messages and comfort me until I feel sleepy; when I want to have fun, I can concentrate myself to my favorite poker game; and also my dear parents and friends…I feel sweet and warm…
To be a simple and sweet girl---that will be always my dream…
To be an excellent poker player---that will be always my direction…

Baccarat
People believe that Baccarat has been introduced to France from Italy during the region of Charles VIII of France (1483-1498), which is similar to Faro and to Basset. There are three accepted variants of the game: baccarat chemin de fer (railway), baccarat banque (a deux tableaux) and punto banco (or North American baccarat).
The valuation of hands in Baccarat is quite different from other poker games like Texas Hold’em so we should pay special attention to it. In Baccarat, cards 2-9 are worth face value and 10’s and face cards (J Q K) are with zero, and Aces are worth 1 point. Players calculate their score by taking the sum of all cards modulo 10, meaning that after adding the value cards the tens digit is ignored.
Anyway, have a try then you will get everything of its essence…

Pot-Limit Omaha
Today I choose pot-limit Omaha which is a community card poker game similar to Texas Hold’em where each player is dealt four cards and must make his best hand using exactly two of them, plus exactly three of the five community cards. However, it is different from Texas Hold’em…
More people will see the flop in Omaha which also creates bigger pots, making your decisions on the flop even more crucial; players need a stronger hand to win at Omaha because the best hands are those that are made and hold additional value, like top set with a big draw in Omaha. Meanwhile, although position is very important in all forms of poker, it is less important in Omaha and it is usually the player holding the best hand that wins the pot…
I haven’t won in my game by far and I’m not sure whether it is because of my lost mood, but I will hold on…

Speed Hold’em-----Time Limited Yet Fun Limitless
Actually, Speed Hold’em is a very fast poker game comparing to Texas Hold’em while it has many advantages. The most obvious one is that you don’t have to wait for a long time for the other players to take action so that you need not to wait and wait wasting your time. I really feel bad when I wait for a long time before. Meanwhile, when players are asked to play poker quickly, the weak poker players will make mistakes.
Similarly, in any time during the poker game the players can fold and get out of the hand. All bets will be lost at that point.
Speed Hold’em has really attracted me and I have gained more and more fun from it. So friends, don’t hesitate any more, let’s go together to have a try…

Table Selection--One important skill for Texas Holdem
Table selection is by far the most important skill to master and love, and it will make you the most profitable player that you can be. It does not matter how good you are at playing poker if you are always sitting down at the table with people that are as good as or better than you. As you will find in the long run you are losing money playing with players that are as good as you are because of the rake. The rake will kill your profitability. So you need to improve your poker skills at selecting your table to spot and locate the fish as you must know that sharks really feed on fish.
But here the point is HOW you could find the fish in poker games. Normally, you could watch carefully other players when playing against them and find those who consistently make bad or silly moves, weather they get lucky or not, just write them down. Next time when you come across them in poker games, you could easily read them out and know how to grab them of their bucks. Another way to find fish is to share information with your friends by creating a fish list and store all the useful fish information in the list. This information will be valuable to everyone in your group, and will help you and your friends profit.
But if you do not have any notes or fishlists, how will you play then? It’s simple that you need to know that nothing would stop you from standing up and leaving the table. As you know that if you cannot spot the fish in the first thirty minutes, you are the fish, so do not hesitate to stand up and leave the table in search of friendlier and more profitable waters.
Anyway, remember that the poker skills are the most important in poker games though you need to know how to select the proper table to win from the fish.

How to play pre-flop
Playing with 10 people in a poker game, it's much more likely that someone else has a strong hand in the pocket than in a short-handed game. And the chances are also bigger that someone's pre-flop hand fitting the flop will be much better. More competition means stiffer competition.
Then assuming that you’ve been playing several hands with a few people and you find that some players always call or raise your bet, you need to adjust your poker strategies to their playing styles and let them win the blinds but win big when you have a strong hand in the pocket pre-flop.
If you have 2$ left, you would play carefully and select one hand to bet on, hoping to get as many players involved as possible for a larger pot. You'll want to be all-in before the flop is dealt. But suppose that you have 1000$ in a 1$/2$ table, then you could take the high-risk, high-payout bets. So your playing strategy depends on your bankroll.
As we discussed before that positions really matter in poker games, you need to vary your playing strategies according to your different positions around the table. If you are in the early or middle positions, you must carefully think before you decide how to play your pre-flop as you have little information of how others play their hands first. If you stay in the late positions, it must be better for you to base your decisions on what others react and optimize the pot size to your wish.
Therefore, next time when you want to play your pre-flop in Texas Holdem, take these factors into consideration and then you could make some wise decisions on how you play it well.
